The Startup Rollercoaster: PLG, North Stars and going all in..

Contents
Here is what our last year looked like at Univid, and what happened.
Our North Star as B2B SaaS with PLG motion
As expressed through our North Star metric: Number of events hosted on the platform.

This metric matters to us - because new events feed new users through network effects and growth loops in our SaaS.
Three major changes
1. Scaling down the team, going all in on PLG
AI is transforming how organizations can operate. Small efficient teams can now outpace large industry giants - and AI first SaaS like Lovable, Bolt, etc. show how tiny teams can build and grow at hyper speed. Lots of them building out of Stockholm.
In H2 2024, we made a tough call:
-> We scaled down the team
-> Fully moved into a bootstrapped PLG motion
This was a lot of work, and a big mental load to push through.
We are building Univid towards $5M ARR on a team of 2 people - learn more about our playbook here.

Also, fully doubling down on PLG growth - with nice traction across multiple regions.
2. Becoming profitable and growing ARR steadily
We’re now in a healthy spot - building a profitable SaaS, and seeing strong, steady revenue growth MoM.
And it’s honestly more fun than ever.
3. Smashing usage goals
In May 2025, we hit 3 new big milestones for our SaaS:
✅ Largest webinar ever hosted on Univid
✅ Most webinars at the same time
✅ Most webinars ever in a single month
What's next?
We have a ton of exciting stuff for the rest of the year. Now building an organization that operates on AI agents internally, working closely with our customers to make the fastest webinar experience in the world, and tapping into new fun go-to-market plays with AI search.
Distribution is king. PLG is know longer optional. SEO is transforming. IMO the most exciting times to build we have ever seen. Let’s see what the rest of 2025 brings!
